Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!
I look forward to getting to know you. The following information will help you know what to expect.
How to Prepare for the Scan
There is not much preparation needed. Certain factors can affect the conductance of the body and hence the results. As such, the following is recommended to ensure the most accurate results:
Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna/steam room, soaking in bath, hot tub, or whole body cryotherapy two hours before the test or wait two hours after.
Avoid eating for 2 hours before the test or wait two hours after a meal before testing.
Postpone the test if you have a fever or chills, or feel ill.
If you are pregnant, or currently on your menstrual cycle the scan is not recommended due to fluctuations in body water levels.
If you have prosthetic limbs it is not recommended that you use this modality. The electric currents are unable to pass through as the electrodes must come into contact with the body at all eight contact points (thumbs, palms, soles and heels).
If you have an insulin pump or artificial electrical implants such as a defibrillator or pacemaker it is not recommended that you use this modality. The electrical currents of the scan may disrupt the functionality of life-sustaining implants.
What to Expect
Health History - You will fill out a brief health history form and I will ask you some questions about your health, lifestyle, needs and goals. This is to get to know you better.
Emptying Your Bladder - To ensure more accurate results, you will need to empty your bladder. Don’t worry I have you covered with a bathroom in my building.
Removal of Accessories and Shoes - Expect to take off any socks, shoes, gloves, and any jewelry.
Wiping Your Hands and Feet - I will have you wipe your hands and feet with special wipes. This increases electrical conductivity where the hands and feet electrodes contact the skin, especially if you have thick calluses or hard skin. It also serves as an antibacterial wipe.
Scan - You will stand upright on the device for approximately 1 minute.
Results - After the scan, I will review the results with you.
Print Out - You will also receive a print out of the results for your records and/or to share with your doctor, trainer, nutritionist, etc.
Time Needed - Expect to spend 30-45 minutes at your first appointment. Subsequent visits may require 15-20 minutes as you will become a pro at this in no time.
Investment- $95 per scan appointment.
